TRIAL CRITICAL POINT CHECKLIST (HACCP) FOR SEAWEED PROCESSING UNIT AT PT. HAKIKI DONARTA

Pasuruan, August 27th, 2025 – The Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP), in collaboration with the Global Quality and Standards Programme (GQSP) UNIDO Indonesia, conducted a trial of the critical point checklist at the Seaweed Processing Unit of PT. Hakiki Donarta.
This activity is part of an effort to harmonize quality and food safety standards in the fishery processing industry. Previously, the supervision checklist was merged with Fish Processing Unit (UPI). With this separation, the seaweed processing industry (UPRL) now has a more specific evaluation list tailored to the characteristics of its production process.
During the trial, MoMAF, UNIDO, and company teams conducted on-site review of the production facilities, identified critical points affecting product quality and safety, and provided recommendations for improvements regarding international standards.

This program is also part of GQSP UNIDO Indonesia’s support for enhancing the capacity of the seaweed processing industry, while addressing the industry’s need more relevant certification and supervision system.
With the compliment of this checklist, we hope that Indonesia’s Seaweed Processing Industry more excellence prepared to meet international market demands and strengthen Indonesia’s position as the world’s second-largest seaweed producer.
